What is the MSL REDDY product all about?

The MSL REDDY LED product line was designed to make a quality LED light system available for low budget project, by example light fixtures around the house, patio, small businesses (store fronts, gas stations, car wash and so on). The MSL REDDY product line features the same MSL light modules (24C) as the big systems you see on Observation wheels or large scale structures, but is limited in the choice of size and length.

 

How do I configure a MSL REDDY LED light system?

 In general the customer doen have to configure the light fixtures if only used single light bars as a 1 meter, 2 meter or 3 meter section, this light bars are standard configured with the address starting at # one. if the light string exceeds 3 meter or the lights have to be installed around corners where more than 1 fixture is needed, the lights must be configured which means certain light bars must be chosen. The addressing always follows the rule from address 1 to address 12 in order to avoid "hick-ups". By example: An installation requires a 1 meter piece, a 2 meter piece, another 2 meter piec and a 1 meter piece at the end, the first 1 meter section needs to be addressed 1-4 (1meter "A" section) the following 2 meter section needs to be addressed 5-12 (2 meter "B" section), the next 2 meter section, since we ended with address12 must be an address 1 again, 1-8  (2 meter "A" section) and the last 1 meter section must be addressed 9-12 (1 meter "C" section).

In what sizes are the LED light fixtures available?

The MSL REDDY light fixtures are vailable in 1 meter (39.4"), 2 meter (78.8") and 3 meter (118.2"), the light modules are configured in an order that several light fixtures can be daisy-chaned together without a visible gap between the light modules, each light fixture has an in put plug and an output receptical, so that the fixture can be plugged together fast and easy.

 

What material are the light fixtures made of?

The light fixtures are made of aluminum (silver anodized), all bolts are stainless steel, the light base and lenses are made of PC (poly carbonate, Bayer Makrolon UV stabilized).

 

Do I need a controller to operate the light fixtures?

Yes, a controller is required for operation, the controller also houses the power supply needed to operate the lights. Several sizes of controller are available (100 Watts, 350 Watts, 600 Watts and 1200 Watts). 

 

How do I configure the size of the controller needed for my light system?

Each individual light module uses an average of 2 Watts (8Watts for the 1 meter section, 16 Watts for the 2 meter section and 24 Watts for the 3 meter section). When ordering the light fixtures the total number of individual light modules must be counted multiplie by 2 which will result in the total current of your system. The controller capacity must be equal or higher to the total current of your system.

 

How many light fixtures can I daisy-chain together?

The light fixture can be connected up to 80 light modules. 

 

What do I have to do if I want to install more fixtures that i can daisy-chain together?

If the number of your light system exceeds 80 light modules a seperate feed must be installed for the remaining modules or the next 80 modules. keep in mind that the controller should be installed in the center of the entire installation in order to keep wire leads in equal lengths.

 

Can I get wire extensions for the light fixtures?

Yes wire extensions are available online in lenghts of 0.5 meter (), 1 meter (39"), 2 meter (78"), 5 meter (196"), 10 meter (392") and 20 meter (784")

 

Where can i order my MSL REDDY LED light system?

At this point you can only order the MSL REDDY products at the MSL online store: www.my-msl.com . We are in preparation to offer this product line as well trhough Amazon.com.

 

Can I purchase my MSL REDDY LED light system anywhere else besides online order?

No, in order to keep the pricing for this product at an economical level, the only way to order the MSL REDDY products is online.

 

How soon can I get my order?

The MSL REDDY products are usually in stock in the US warehouse in Herndon or in our facillity in Hong Kong. Regular quantities (up to 50 light fixtures) usually ship in 2 days and reach the customer within 5 to 8 working days deopending on method of shipping choosen.

 

What voltage is the MSL REDDY LED light system operated with?

The light fixtures are operated with 36Volt DC, which is generated by the controller. Therefore the system is safe to touch. 36 Volt is considered low voltage

 

Is MSL REDDY safe to use outside?

Yes, as all of our products are designed and produced for outside use (ip65 standard)

 

Is MSL REDDY certified?

Yes, all our products are ETL approved (UL and CSA standard) and CE certified Link to certification page

 

What is the warranty on MSL REDDY products?

The warranty for all our products is 12 month, during this periode of time please contact support@rideled.com to verifiy where to send the defective part and how it will be replaced. Link to download the warranty application form.

 

What do I have to do with defective parts?

During the warranty periode the defective parts must be send back to Maxtron, discarded products will not be replaced. After the warranty defective parts must be properly disposed.

 

Where do I get spare parts after the warranty is expired?

Spare parts can be ordered at any time online at www.my-msl.com.

 

Can I install MSL REDDY around my house?

Yes, MSL REDDY is designed to be attached to any type of building materials as wood, steel, vinyl siding, stone, and so on, different mounting brackets and clips are available at www.my-msl.com

 

What type of lenses are coming with my MSL REDDY LED system?

The MSL REDDY products are delivered with the standard lens type (raised prism lens, translucent). 

 

Can I change the type of lens, by example to a clear lens?

Yes, differents style and size lenses are available and can be ordered seperately at www.my-msl.com.

 

Can i get custom size light fixtures?

No, MSL REDDY procuts are only available in 3 different lengths and types.

 

What kind of bracket do I use to install the light fixtures?

Brackets and clips are available for different applications, by example for vertical or moving application bolted brackets are required in order to keep the fixture in position, on horizontal static installations clips can be used. on overhead installations or in areas with high winds, it is strongly recommended to use bolted brackets.
